A managed web platform
One developer builds and maintains your site. You run your business.
Free to launch. $90/mo.
One subscription covers the build, hosting, updates, and security—all handled by a developer who stays with your site. For independent professionals who’d rather serve their clients than manage their website.
Compare the models
You’ve seen the standard approaches to managing a website. This one is different.
Agency
$5k–$20k+ upfront
then ongoing retainers
- Pay for the build, then pay again to maintain it
- Account managers between you and the work
- Proprietary platforms designed to make leaving expensive
Freelancer
Project ends, they’re gone
undocumented architecture left behind
- Availability ends with the final deliverable
- No ongoing monitoring, security, or backups
- Next person starts from zero
Self-serve
You do the work
every update pulls you from your business
- Your time managing the site costs more than the subscription
- Locked into whatever the template allows
- Cheaper per month, but every change is on you
This model
Free to launch. $90/mo.
everything included, cancel anytime
- Built, hosted, updated, secured—one fee
- One person builds it and stays with it
- The same person handles every update. No handoffs, no repeating yourself.
That’s the model. Now here’s how it actually works.
When you subscribe
I build your site from scratch as part of your subscription.
Most sites go from brief to live in a few weeks.
You send me your current site, a few reference sites you like, or nothing at all. You fill out a brief that captures your style, audience, and goals. We talk through the most important pages and features.
I build the homepage. You review and request changes. Once it’s right, I build the rest of the site the same way.
You guide the direction. I implement the details. This isn’t a template—the site is built around how your business actually works.
After launch
The same arrangement continues. The requests just get smaller.
Send requests to [email protected]. An auto-reply confirms it’s in the queue. Most are handled within a day.
If your site is broken, email [email protected] or text. Same-day fix. Standard requests go through the normal queue.
Small changes deploy directly. Larger changes are staged for your approval. Complex requests are scoped and confirmed before work begins.
No account managers, no dashboards, no “let me check with the team.” One person, start to finish.
Send a real request. I’ll handle it like it’s your site.
Open Joe’s Cafe, a demo site I built to show how this works. Tell me what you’d like changed. I’ll interpret your direction and implement it—the same way I would for your actual site. You’re testing the process, not the limits.
What you get
A site built to perform, maintained to last. One fee covers it all.
Built into every site
- SEO structure, analytics, and conversion tracking
- Fast load times and responsive design on every device
- Rich content: images, video, custom layouts, formatting
- SSL, backups, monitoring—built into the platform, not bolted on as extras
- Built on a standard, professional stack (Laravel, Livewire, Tailwind)
These are standard things many services charge extra for or leave you to configure. Here they’re part of the platform—automated and maintained as part of your subscription.
Covered when you need it
- New pages, content updates, and section redesigns
- Fixing bugs, improving UX, adjusting forms and fields
- Lead generation tools, booking systems, client portals
- Member dashboards and client education features
What’s extra
Custom integrations (ERP, CRM), mobile apps, or replacing your site’s fundamental purpose are scoped as one-time projects—never a second monthly fee. The subscription already covers an unusually wide range of work.
Domains & email
You own and renew your domain. I point it at your site and handle the rest. Emails from your site (contact forms, notifications) are included. If you need a business inbox at your domain, I’ll set it up during onboarding for a one-time fee.
The site is built on standard technology—no proprietary builder, no custom CMS. Any developer familiar with the stack could pick up where I left off.
Why this works
You keep your clients happy to stay in business. I do the same for you.
Capacity is capped at around 50 clients. That’s the number I can serve well—quick responses, thorough work, lasting relationships. The cap isn’t a limitation; it’s how the service stays responsive without becoming impersonal.
Who runs this
I’m Joel. I’ve been building websites for over ten years. Every site on this platform is built and maintained by me—no team, no handoffs, no account manager between us. The name is Craft JD—just the pipeline I built to do this at a consistent level for the people who need it.
“I used to dread updating my site. Now I send a text or an email and it just happens. Worth it for the mental load alone.”

Boundaries
If things change on either side, it’s a clean break.
Cancellation
Email me. The subscription ends and the site stays live through the end of your billing period. No questions asked.
Taking your site elsewhere
If you need the code or an export to move to another provider, I’ll prepare that for a one-time fee. Exports are also available annually upon request so your data is never trapped.
Growing past this model
This service is designed for businesses that don’t need a full team. If you eventually do—more complex infrastructure, a dedicated in-house developer, a different platform entirely—the standard technology stack means any developer can pick up where I left off. No proprietary lock-in, no migration nightmare.
Ready to start?
Either way, you’ll hear back from a real person. No sales pressure, no automated funnels, no meetings you didn’t ask for.
